The Rachel Barton Pine (RBP) Foundation, a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) charitable organization, was founded in 2001 to expand awareness of and appreciation for classical music. It provides services and funding for classical music education, research, performances, and artists, to benefit listeners and learners alike. Current projects include an instrument loan program, grants for education and career, support of aspiring classical musicians in developing countries around the world (Global Heartstrings), and creation of a supplemental curriculum of music for strings by composers of African descent (Music by Black Composers).
The important work of the Rachel Barton Pine Foundation is only possible with your help! Please consider making a generous, tax-deductible donation to the RBP Foundation or to any of our programs. Gifts of any amount are helpful and welcome, and we would be happy to discuss creating a giving opportunity to fit your interests.
Deadlines for applying to our Instrument Loan Program are April 1, August 1, and December 1. The deadline for new applicants to our Grants for Education and Career program is December 1. Renewal applications may be submitted by April 1 and August 1. Inquiries to Global HeartStrings are reviewed on an ongoing basis.
